In this interview Michael Noble discusses his parents' arrival in Libby in the early 1950s; his father's work for Zonolite as a shift forman and later in the electrical shop; his childhood in Libby; changes in the community of Libby over time; cultural and social life in Libby including Logger Days, saloons, politics, religion; contributions of larger employers to community of Libby (W.R. Grace, J. Neil Company, U.S. Forest Service, Stimson Lumber); air and water quality in Libby; his own work for W.R. Grace including hauler, sweeping dry mill, belt tender for conveyor belts), grease monkey in garage, and electrical shop work on instrumentation, machinist; the closing of W.R. Grace; his father's asbestosis; mother's respirator problems; his own struggles with asbestosis; and the effects of legal cases against Grace on the community of Libby. (OH 2020)
